How to use SNDP Online
SNDP Online keeps a Shakha's houses, members, masavari, sambhavana and receipts in one place. It runs in the browser on any phone or computer at app.sndponline.org. If something does not work as described here, see Troubleshooting.

1. Getting started
Open the app
- Go to app.sndponline.org in Chrome (Android) or Safari (iPhone). Nothing needs to be downloaded from a store.
- To keep it on your home screen: in Chrome tap ⋮ → Add to Home screen (or Install app); in Safari tap Share → Add to Home Screen. It then opens like any other app.
- Enter your mobile number. Indian numbers need 10 digits; overseas numbers need the country code, for example +971….
- Tap Send code. A 6-digit code arrives on WhatsApp from SNDP Online within a few seconds.
- Type the code and tap Verify and continue. The code works for a few minutes only, and only a limited number of tries are allowed.
There are no passwords. Anyone holding your phone can receive your codes, so keep your phone locked.
More than one role
If you are, for example, the Secretary of one Shakha and a member of another, the app asks which one to open. You can change later from the ⋯ menu → Switch role.
The ⋯ menu
The round ⋯ button at the top right of every screen has shortcuts (Settings, WhatsApp, UPI and bank details), the language switch (മലയാളം / English), this guide, help, the privacy policy and terms, and Log out.
2. Registering a Shakha
A Shakha is registered once, by its President, Secretary or another office bearer the Shakha has authorised.
- Open the app, tap Register a Shakha and log in with your own mobile number.
- Choose the country, state, district and Union. If your Union is not listed, contact support (see Contact).
- Enter the Shakha number exactly as issued by SNDP Yogam, the Shakha name and place.
- Enter the office bearers. President and Secretary are required; add the Treasurer and others if you like.
- Tick the consent box and tap Submit application.
The application is checked, usually within two working days. You get a WhatsApp message when it is approved or, if something needs correcting, the reason. To correct a rejected application, open it and tap Correct and apply again.
The person who registers becomes the Shakha admin.
3. The setup wizard
The first time the Shakha admin opens an approved Shakha, a setup wizard walks through everything the Shakha needs. It takes about 10 minutes. Every step can be skipped and finished later; tap Finish later at the top to leave the wizard, and Finish setting up the Shakha on the home screen to come back.
| Step | What you do | Needed? |
|---|---|---|
| Office bearers | Check the names and mobile numbers. They appear on receipts and notices. | Yes |
| UPI, bank and receipts | The Shakha's UPI ID and bank account, where members pay. The receipt prefix (for example PLP) starts every receipt number. | Yes |
| Masavari amount | The monthly amount per house and the month it starts from. See Masavari and arrears. | Yes |
| Online payments | Connect the Shakha's own Razorpay account so members can pay by card or net banking. See Online payments. | Optional |
| WhatsApp messages | Recharge message credits. Login codes need them. See WhatsApp messages. | Yes |
| Logins and staff | Add collectors, and a second admin in case you are away. | Optional |
The last step shows anything still missing. Tap Finish setup when you are done.
4. Settings
The Settings tab (the gear at the bottom) has everything the wizard set up, each with Done, To do or Optional next to it:
- Office bearers: change them after an election. President and Secretary are always required.
- UPI, bank and receipts: UPI ID, bank account (shown masked after saving; type it again only to change it), IFSC, receipt prefix and the Shakha's email.
- Masavari amount: opens the Money tab.
- Online payments: the Razorpay connection and convenience fee.
- WhatsApp messages: balance, recharge and history.
- Logins and staff (admin only).
- WhatsApp contacts: send notices and reminders.
The Shakha number, name, place and contact mobile can only be changed by support, so that receipts stay consistent. Collectors can see Settings but cannot change them.
5. Houses and members
Adding houses and members
- Open the Members tab → Houses and add each house with its house number, house name and address.
- Open a house and add its members. Choose the head of family. Each member gets an ID card number when added.
- Only add people who have agreed. Have each family sign the Shakha's consent form and keep the signed copies at the Shakha office.
For Aadhaar, only the last four digits are kept. Children can be listed in a house by a parent; only adults can have a login.
Members who register themselves
Members can register from the app: they choose the Union and Shakha, enter their house and details, and the request appears under Members → To approve. Choose the right house (or create a new one) and tap Approve, or Do not approve with a reason the applicant will see. The member gets a WhatsApp message either way.
Search, lock and inactive
- Search by name, ID card number or house number.
- Lock stops a member using the app; the record stays.
- Mark inactive when a member moves away, resigns or passes away. Their history is kept and can be made active again.
6. Masavari and arrears
- Set the amount in Money → Masavari per house → Set amount. The app creates the dues for every active house each month.
- The first amount can start up to 3 years back, to bring old arrears into the app.
- To change the amount later, choose a start month from this month onwards. Months already passed keep their old amount.
- For a house added late, open the house and set Masavari from to an earlier month to add its arrears.
- To excuse a month for a family in difficulty, open the house and tap Waive on that month, with a reason.
Money shows the total outstanding, houses with dues, this month's collection and UPI payments waiting to be checked.
7. Collecting payments
Admins and collectors can record a payment received in hand:
- Tap Collect payment on the Money tab, or open the house.
- Find the house by number or name. The app shows what it owes.
- For masavari, choose the number of months (dues first, then up to 12 months in advance). For sambhavana, choose the collection and enter the amount.
- Choose how it was paid: cash, cheque, or UPI at the office. For a cheque or UPI, enter the cheque number or UTR.
- Tap Save and issue receipt. The receipt is issued at once and sent to the family on WhatsApp.
8. Checking UPI payments
Members can pay by UPI straight to the Shakha's UPI ID from the app, and then type the 12-digit UPI reference (UTR). Those payments wait under Money → UPI payments to check.
- Open your bank app or statement and find a credit with the same UTR and amount.
- If it is there, tap Received — issue receipt.
- If it is not, tap Not received and give a reason (for example "no credit with this UTR"). The member sees the reason and gets a WhatsApp message.
Never approve a UPI payment without checking the bank: a receipt confirms that the Shakha has the money.
9. Receipts
- Receipts are numbered in one unbroken series per financial year, for example PLP/2026-27/00001.
- Open any receipt to Print it or Share it on WhatsApp.
- A wrong receipt cannot be deleted. Use Cancel receipt with a reason: the number is kept and marked CANCELLED, and the months become unpaid again. Then record the payment correctly.
- Online payments are receipted automatically; the reference on the receipt is the Razorpay payment id.
10. Sambhavana collections
- In Money → Sambhavana collections tap New collection (for example "Guru Jayanthi 2026").
- Add a description, a suggested amount and start and end dates if you like.
- Members see open collections in the app and can give by UPI or online; collectors can record cash or cheque.
- Each collection shows how much has come in. Close collection when it ends; you can reopen it.
11. Online payments (Razorpay)
With online payments on, members can pay masavari, arrears and sambhavana by debit or credit card, net banking or any UPI app. Each Shakha uses its own Razorpay account, so the money goes straight to the Shakha's bank account. SNDP Online never receives or holds it.
The member pays a small convenience fee on top (2.36% unless the Shakha changes it), which covers Razorpay's charge. Paying by UPI directly to the Shakha stays free.
A. Open a Razorpay account
- Sign up at razorpay.com in the Shakha's name (not a personal name).
- Complete the KYC: the Shakha's PAN, the bank account that should receive the money, and the registration papers Razorpay asks for. Activation can take a few days.
B. Create the API key
- In the Razorpay dashboard, switch to Live mode.
- Go to Account & Settings → API keys and tap Generate key.
- Copy the Key ID (starts with rzp_live_) and the Key Secret. The secret is shown only once; if you lose it, generate a new key.
C. Add the webhook
- In SNDP Online open Settings → Online payments. Copy the Webhook URL shown there (it is different for every Shakha).
- In Razorpay go to Account & Settings → Webhooks → Add new webhook.
- Paste the URL, type a secret of your choice (at least 8 characters), and tick the event payment_link.paid. Save.
D. Connect it in SNDP Online
- In Settings → Online payments, paste the Key ID and Key Secret and type the same webhook secret.
- Set the convenience fee (0 to 5%).
- Tick Turn on online payments for members and tap Save. The app checks the key with Razorpay before saving.
Secrets are stored encrypted and never shown again. To change them, type the new ones; leave the boxes empty to keep the saved ones. To stop online payments, untick the box and save.
How a member pays online
- The member chooses masavari months or a sambhavana amount and taps Pay online. The total with the fee is shown first.
- Razorpay's secure page opens. The member pays by card, net banking or UPI.
- The app confirms the payment with Razorpay and issues the receipt at once. If the member closes the page early, the webhook still confirms it within a few minutes.
Refunds of online payments are made by the Shakha from its own Razorpay dashboard. After refunding, cancel the receipt in the app with the reason.
12. WhatsApp messages and recharge
Login codes, receipts, approvals and notices are sent on WhatsApp. Each message the app sends for the Shakha uses one credit (₹1 per message), paid by the Shakha. Members never pay for messages.
Recharge
- Open Settings → WhatsApp messages (or tap the balance on the home screen) and tap Recharge.
- Choose a pack or type another number of messages. The price is shown on the button before you pay.
- Pay on the secure store page. Credits are added as soon as the payment is confirmed, usually within a minute, and the GST invoice is sent to you by email.
When the balance runs low
- The home screen warns when the balance is low.
- The balance can go down to −5 so that logins do not stop suddenly; a red bar asks you to recharge at once.
- Below −5, messages and logins for members and collectors stop until you recharge. The Shakha admin can still log in to recharge. The negative amount is taken from the next recharge.
- Keep enough balance for everyone who logs in. Roughly, each login uses one message.
The history shows every message and recharge. If a message fails on our side, its credit is returned automatically.
13. WhatsApp contacts and notices
Settings → WhatsApp contacts lists every member with a mobile number, with filters:
- Heads of family only or everyone.
- Gender and age range.
- Dues: anyone, only houses that owe (optionally owing at least N months), or only houses that are clear.
- Has a login, a particular house, or a name search.
Then choose what to send:
- Dues reminder: each house's own amount and months.
- Meeting notice: the meeting, date, time and place.
- Notice: a short line of text.
Tap Check cost first: it shows how many phone numbers will get it and how many messages it uses. Then tap Send to …. Sending needs enough balance (it does not use the −5 allowance). Messages go out a few per second; the progress and any failures show under the send history.
Use notices only for Shakha matters, not advertising or politics.
14. Logins and staff
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Shakha admin | Everything: settings, office bearers, online payments, recharge, logins, plus everything a collector can do. |
| Collector | Houses and members, collect payments, check UPI payments, receipts, WhatsApp contacts. Sees settings but cannot change them. |
| Member | Own house, dues, payments and receipts; pay by UPI or online. |
Add staff in Settings → Logins and staff → Add with their mobile number and role. They get a WhatsApp message and can log in with their own number. Remove staff who leave; their past receipts stay in their name.
15. For members
Register
- Open the app, tap Member registration and log in with your mobile number.
- Choose your Union and Shakha, give your house name and address (and house number if you know it), and your details.
- Submit. Your Shakha checks and approves it, and you get a WhatsApp message.
Pay masavari or sambhavana
- On your home screen tap Pay masavari (choose how many months) or Give sambhavana (choose the collection and amount).
- Pay by UPI (no fee): tap Open UPI app or scan the QR code, pay the Shakha, then type the 12-digit UTR from your UPI app and tap I have paid. The Shakha checks it and the receipt follows.
- Pay online (if your Shakha has it): pay on the Razorpay page by card, net banking or UPI. The receipt comes at once. A small fee is added and shown before you pay.
All your receipts are on your home screen, and each one is also sent on WhatsApp.
16. Good practice
- Check the bank before approving any UPI payment.
- Keep signed consent forms for members you add.
- Update office bearers and remove old staff logins after every election.
- Keep the WhatsApp balance above the warning level.
- Never share a login code with anyone, including people claiming to be from support. We never ask for codes.
- Ask for a data export at any time; the Shakha owns its data.
